Australians need a visa to visit Indonesia. Only citizens of ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste are exempt.

Indonesia eVisa for Australians

There are 2 Indonesia online visa types:

  • e-VOA
  • Visitor Visa

The main difference between the 2 types is how long you can stay.

  • e-VOA: Stay for up to 30 days
  • Visitor Visa: Stayfor up to 60 days.

Note: When you apply with us, there’s no need to decide which visa you need. You’ll be automatically assigned the correct visa based on your length of stay.

You must apply for an Indonesia visa extension to stay longer than 30 days or 60 days.

Number of entries

Both the e-VOA and the Visitor Visa are single-entry visas. You need to apply for a new visa each time you travel to Indonesia.

Validity

Both visas are valid for 90 days. You can enter Indonesia at any point within the 90-day validity period indicated on the approved visa.

You can choose ‘Embassy Registration’ when you complete the visa application form. Your trip will then be automatically registered with the Australian Embassy in Indonesia.

Requirements for Australian eVisa Applicants

All you need is:

  • Passport valid for 6 months
  • Passport-style photograph
  • Debit or credit card
  • Email address

Traveling from Australia to Indonesia with an eVisa

Australians traveling with an e-VOA or Visitor Visa can enter the country through air, sea, and land ports of entry.

There are direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne to both Jakarta and Bali.

On arrival at these airports, immigration officials will check your passport and verify your visa. You could also be asked for a return or onward travel ticket so make sure you have this with you.
